Wills & Bequests
The City Mission Foundation
The Christchurch City Mission Foundation is a company of friends who have chosen to perpetuate their lifetime support of the Mission through an enduring legacy.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees responsible for the wise investment of the Foundation Fund. Capital is conserved while maximizing income to be used for the work of the City Mission.
Honour in Their Lifetimes
To recognize and honour the Mission’s benefactors during their lifetimes, Foundation membership is open to those who have signified their intention to make a bequest. As this decision is often private and personal the list of members is never made public.
Benefactors are kept abreast of current development plans and the ongoing life of the Mission.
The Book of Benefactors
Members who have died are remembered in The Book of Benefactors kept in the Mission Chapel, and their memory is celebrated in the continuing work of the City Mission.
We hope you will decide to become a member of this special group of people.
Ways to Give
A Pecuniary Legacy
This involves leaving a gift of a specific amount of money. The disadvantage is that, over the years, inflation will erode its value. To overcome this, you can set aside a proportion of your estate as described below.
A Residuary Legacy
This protects the value of your gift – which may be a proportion of the residue of your estate after specific bequests have been made.
If you decide to make a bequest to the City Mission Foundation in your Will please download and complete the following form.
