You're invited to the Christchurch City Mission Business Breakfast.
This event is an opportunity for likeminded people and businesses to connect, and for you to make your Monday morning meaningful. Join renowned speaker Ekant Veer, Associate Professor of Marketing at University of Canterbury, and learn about "The Importance of Failure".
In this talk Ekant Veer discusses the impact that a results driven society has had on creativity, risk taking and wellbeing. In particular, he discusses how to cope when we fail, but also the importance of creating a culture where failure is encouraged (within reason, of course). Drawing on his research on how to effectively promote mental wellbeing in organisations and communities alongside his experience of working with students in the tertiary sector he draws conclusions on how to destigmatise failure, how to cope with failure and how to thrive after a failure.
