The Christchurch City Mission Foodbank needs your support. Whether you give ‘the money’ through the donation envelope, or fill ‘the bag’ with some groceries and drop it off at your local New World supermarket, your support of this Appeal ensures our Foodbank and range of social services can continue to provide their valuable work.
Together, we can help those most in need, when they need it most.

We opened our transitional accommodation units in early December and are pleased to report that we have helped numerous families with this temporary accommodation. Our current tenants are so grateful that they have safe and secure temporary accommodation for their children.
There are various reasons why the people who come to us for support find themselves struggling and homeless. Often it is due to changes in circumstances such as a relationship breakdown or loss of employment, which can leave them with no option but to forgo their previous living arrangements. Our social workers are available to assist where required and often work in with other agencies to provide support to the tenants. Since opening we have housed a refugee family and several solo parent families have stayed until they were able to move into housing NZ houses or alternative housing solutions have been secured for them.
