Maurice Marks is set to retire on June 28 after 18 years of volunteering at the Christchurch City Mission and will celebrate his 84th Birthday two days later. Maurice has assisted the Food Bank for 15 of those years, completing the cycle of the trusty white van.Read more
The new head of the Christchurch City Mission, Matthew Mark, appears, firm handshake and genuine smile at the ready.
Six weeks ago he took over the role from Michael Gorman, who spent 12 years at the helm.

We had a visit from two of the star players of the Canterbury Rams. They came along to visit the men from the shelter/day programme.
After a quick meet and greet, they went outside to chuck a few balls around and, although the men were a bit weary at first, it quickly turned into a free for all of laughter, joking and great fun. The men showed a sense of team spirit and community amongst themselves. The Rams boys really helped to boost their confidence and this was apparent in their outgoing behaviour.
