Back to School Programme
No child should walk into school feeling ashamed
Hundreds of Canterbury children face going to new schools each year looking like they don’t belong or can’t afford to belong. These children are from families who can’t give them proper uniforms, shoes and stationery.
Many will fall out of the education system to avoid the embarrassment in their new classes.
We have stepped up to help through our our Back to School Programme which gives these children a fair start to school so they don’t miss the chance of the better life that education provides.
The Back to School programme is now closed to new applications. We are currently working through the applications already received, and those on the existing list will be contacted as we progress.
Our services have a huge and direct impact on the lives of thousands of young people.
