Financial Mentors

At Christchurch City Mission, we understand that juggling finances can be overwhelming, especially with the cost-of-living putting pressure on families and individuals. Our dedicated team of financial mentors is here to offer you free non-judgmental financial well-being check-ins and mentoring to help you manage your money. We can help with budgeting, debt management and goal setting as well as assisting with advocacy and hardship grant applications.

Managing your money to make ends meet is a challenging task whether you are waged or on a limited income. Our mentors are well-equipped to guide you through a range of challenges, including managing late or overdue bills, navigating debt collector interactions, and helping you negotiate your financial situation. We are here to journey with our clients in a supportive way to help break the poverty trap and empower people through education or one-on-one appointments.

Our support is entirely free and available to anyone who needs it, ranging from booked appointments, walk-in sessions (when available), and facilitating Money Mates group sessions. With the guidance of our financial mentors, you can take control of your financial well-being and set a course towards a brighter financial future.
